Winterize Your Hair with Jonathan Mercer

Winterize Your Hair!

Baby, it’s cold outside! With winter fast approaching, let’s go over some of my favorite products to keep your hair healthy in the colder months. Did you know your hair can be dry and frizzy year round!? Don’t worry, I got you covered!

Cream based products are always my go-to in the winter months. They pack more punch than oils or sprays and provide longer lasting benefits. Make sure to use sparingly and know that salon quality products are usually more highly concentrated than anything you can grab at the drug store!

Here’s my recommendations to “winterize” your locks:

•KAVELLA•

PRIMER

The primer is a weightless heat protectant that preps your hair for blowouts and hot tools. Always shake before using! This product can be used on any hair type, acts as a great shine enhancer, and helps to speed up blow-dry time. A great single step product even if you’re just putting your hair up in a messy bun!

FLEXIBLE HOLD STYLING CREAM

This flexible hold styling cream provides a gentle hold and frizz protection without weighing your hair down. It’s great for curly hair whether you air-dry or diffuse and wonderful for blowouts and air-dry styles on all hair types.

•VIRTUE•

UN-FRIZZ CREAM

This product is a leave-in treatment/styling cream-in-one that conditions and smooths hair. It eliminates frizz and blocks humidity to keep your hair sleek and soft. I love to use this for both air-dry styles and blowouts and find it’s best for frizzy, curly, or thick hair.

SPLIT END SERUM

A great product for those who don’t cut their hair enough! Helps to nourish and protect the hair from future damage while sealing and smoothing your ends for that fresh cut feel. Great for those with heat damage or those who haven’t had a haircut in a while. (You should probably come in for a trim, just sayin’!)

•HAIRSTORY•

DRESSED UP HAIR PROTECTOR

This a great lightweight lotion that shields hair from heat damage, prevents split ends, breakage, and tames flyaways. I love using this before and after any hot tool! Curling iron, flat iron or those new hot brushes everyone is raving about! This one is concentrated, so use sparingly!

HAIRBALM

Think of this as a moisturizer, like skincare for your hair. A lightweight cream that adds moisture, volume, and helps restore over-processed hair without feeling crunchy or sticky! I use this to air dry or a little bit too smooth after styling. A great product to add into your routine even if you “never put anything” into your hair!

I hope these products keep your hair healthy this season!

XO

Jonathan
